Anna received her early training in classical ballet under the careful guidance of Karen Macleod. She received her Bachelor of Dance at the Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne in 2010. She has recently completed a Masters in Choreography at Roehampton University (Distinction) and was awarded the MFA Choreography Thesis Prize for Outstanding Achievement at Masters Level. She has created work for Fringe Festivals, professional dance collectives, school groups and launches and also works as a dancer, dance teacher and Pilates instructor.
As a choreographer, Anna’s interests lie in creating work which trusts and relishes the power of movement to connect with people. Her creative motivation is drawn from making work which gives opportunity within it for people to experience transformation, a chance to consider or reconsider matters about themselves, their world and their place within it. She enjoys creating works which offer a sense of journey, often highly detailed and nuanced, and concerned with atmospheric shifts, as well as work that captures the imagination, sparks joy or a way of seeing anew.
